Beaton, Sir Cecil (Walter Hardy)
(14 ene. 1904, Londres, Inglaterra–18 ene. 1980, Broadchalke, Salisbury, Wiltshire).

Fotógrafo y diseñador británico. Cuando recibió su primera cámara a la edad de 11 años, comenzó a retratar a sus hermanas. En la década de 1920 trabajó como fotógrafo de planta de Vanity Fair y Vogue. En los exóticos y extravagantes retratos de Beaton, el retratado constituye sólo un elemento más de una composición íntegramente decorativa, dominada por fondos recargados. Sus fotografías del bloqueo a Gran Bretaña fueron publicadas en Winged Squadrons (1942). Después de la guerra diseñó trajes y escenografías, entre ellos, los de las películas Gigi (1958) y My Fair Lady (1964).
